Donald Marlin Dixon passed away on May 19, 2025. Don was born on August 8, 1957 in Memphis, Tennessee. He was a member of Munford Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Marlin Owen Dixon, his mother, Margaret “Buddy” Dixon, his brother, Randy Owen Dixon, and his twin brother, Daniel Roy Dixon. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Rubye Mincey Dixon of Munford, Tennessee, two daughters and a son, Autumn Whitehead (Brandon), Carlye Smith (Josh), and Blake Marlin Dixon (Anna). He also had an adopted son, Bud Smith (Hannah), a brother, John Dixon (Sonia), a mother-in-law, Buena Mincey, and two sister-in-laws, Julie Dixon and Angela Dixon. He was a proud grandfather (Poppy) of Lexie Whitehead, Emily Whitehead, Brandon (Buddy) Whitehead, Maclynn Dixon, Owen Dixon, Etta Mae Smith, Darcy Smith, Adilee Brian, Annie Brian, and Noah Brian. He left behind many nieces and nephews that he also loved.
Don was selfless. He served God with a passion. The Lord and his family were the most important things in his life. He worked at Dupont for 43 years. Don was an avid outdoorsman, and he loved spending that time with family and friends. He enjoyed farming and working his cows. He was also a great chef, and cooking for his family brought him great joy. He truly loved just being with people in general. Don never met a stranger. He had a unique skill that allowed him to water relationships, and those friendships lasted a lifetime.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, May 22 at Munford Baptist Church from 11 AM to 2 PM. The service will be at 2 PM to follow ending with a burial at Helen Crigger cemetery. Flowers and arrangements will be accepted at Munford Baptist Church.
