In 1970, after many years of waiting, Antonio Del Vecchio was granted immigration to the United States. He, his wife Domenica, their daughter Pasqua, sons Giovanni and Pietro, left their families and everything they’ve ever known, and made the trip across the ocean to the Bronx, NY. They settled in a tiny apartment on Arthur Avenue. They worked their hearts out, saved, and strived for the American dream.

From nothing, they were able to save enough to buy a house in Pelham Bay in 1978 soon after their daughter Anna was born.

They raised their four children, and raised their four grandchildren.
