Mrs. Dolores “Dee” E. Martello, 90, passed away on August 15, 2025 in Stamford, Connecticut. Dolores was born in Manhattan, New York on September 19, 1934. She lived the vast majority of her life surrounded by family and friends whom she held very near and dear to her heart.

As a loving wife and mother, Dolores put her family first and foremost in her life. She joyfully celebrated holidays and birthdays with family, attended her grandchildren’s recitals and sports events, and was always ready to lend an ear or offer advice.

Dolores held several prestigious jobs as a Proofreader and Editor for various technical publications such as Thorndyke-Barnhart Dictionaries, The New England Journal of Medicine, medical documentation for Pfizer, and many others. She also featured as a contestant on the original edition of Jeopardy!. Her mastery of the English language and sharp sense of humor were cherished by her community, as were her beauty, grace, and humility.

Dolores is survived by her loving and devoted daughter and caregiver, JoAnn Martello. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jesse Clement, Derek DeShane, Vanessa DeShane LeBeau, Tina Perrone, Vincent Perrone, Michael Echavarría, Gregory Echavarría, and Victoria Hazoglou, and her great-grandchildren, Nicholas DeShane and Everett Clement.

She was preceded in death by her father, Savvas Deliyiannis, her mother, Marie Dennis, her husband, Vincent Martello, her brother, Richard Deliyiannis, and her daughters, Angela Echavarría and JeanMarie Martello.
