Dolores Cook

Dolores “Dee” C. Cook passed away at the age of 90 with family by her side.

Dee was the wife of the late Jules F. Cook Jr. and cherished fiancée of the late Patrick Grady. She was the proud mother of Jules F. Cook III and the late Alan Cook. Loving grandmother to Tina (Jeff) Peadro, Christine Trombetta, Michael Cook and late Jennifer Cook. Dee’s legacy continues through her great grandchildren, Wyatt, Carter, and Logan Peadro, and Ethan Trombetta. Dearest sister of the late Norbert (Caryl) Para. Aunt to Michael (Carolyn) Para, Jeanine (Don) Rhode and great aunt to Alexis Para and Nicolas Rhode.

Born and raised in the city of Chicago by her late parents Thomas C and Theodora Para (Kurek). Dee attended St. Aloysius High School. She dedicated herself to her career at National Security Bank of Chicago. Dee’s passion for entertainment extended to her time managing arcade games at Riverview Amusement Park, where she led the arcade until its unfortunate closure due to a fire in 1967. She then showcased her bright personality by bartending, where she created lasting friendships and shared countless stories.

Dee found great joy in both playing golf and watching the men’s and women’s tournaments on television. Her interest in bowling was equally strong and she cherished the camaraderie of her fellow bowlers. Dee was also an active member of the Northwest LaSertoma Club, where she contributed to raising funds for speech and hearing impairments. Dee found solace in reading romance novels, often losing herself in the pages of her favorite stories. She found great pleasure in the challenge of jigsaw puzzles and crosswords, often with a smile on her face after tackling the puzzles.

As we celebrate Dee’s life, we remember her laughter, her kindness and her unwavering love for those around her.
