Debra A. Long, 67, entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 7, 2025 at Harrisburg Hospital, surrounded by her beloved family.
Born on May 26, 1957, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late James A. and Herron P. (Pate) Long.
A woman of quiet strength and kindness, Debra found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid fan of crossword puzzles, enjoying the challenge and the satisfaction of completing each one. Her creative spirit was also expressed through her love of crocheting, and she spent countless hours crafting beautiful sweaters, hats, and blankets, often gifting them to family and friends.
Debra was always punctual and took great pride in memorizing the birthdays of all her family members, making each person feel special on their day. Her kindness and thoughtfulness left a lasting impression on everyone she knew.
A loving aunt, Debra played a central role in raising her nieces and nephews, shaping their lives with her warmth, care, and guidance. She loved fiercely and deeply, always putting the needs of those she cared for above her own. Her nurturing spirit and strength will always be remembered.
Debra is survived by her siblings, Alfred Long, Harold Long, Charles Long, Michael Long, Anthony Long, Marcus Long, Helen Scott, Jeanette Long-Mathis, and Janice Long; uncle, Will Pate; aunts, Dorothy “Dot” Scotten-Long, Louise Long and Gladys Scotten; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Linda Long and Ronnie Long.
A public viewing will be held at Neumyer Funeral Home, on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 5:30 PM, followed by a funeral service beginning at 6:30 PM.
A repass will held at Rapid Sandwiches and More Restaurant, 101 S 25th St, Harrisburg, PA.
