David Warren

Clinton-Rev. David C. Warren, 89, passed peacefully on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at UMass Medical Center-University Campus in Worcester. He is reunited with his beloved wife of 64 years, Sally A. (Wiinikka) Warren. He is survived by his children, Wendy Stanford & husband Tom; and Kevin D. Warren & wife Lisa; two grandchildren, Rainy Stanford-Cordaro & husband Jonathan, and Ian Warren & wife Andria; his siblings, Pauline Duffy & husband Daniel, and Jerry Warren & wife Marion; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Russell & husband Richard, Robyn Ingano & husband Terry, and Sr. Kathy Wiinikka; generations of nieces, nephews, extended family and many dear friends.

Son of the late Grantley & Shirley (Clark) Warren, David was raised and educated in Boylston and was a graduate of the Classical High School, Class of 1954. He enlisted and proudly served our nation in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged as a Specialist Fourth Class. Dave returned home safely and began his professional career as a salesman for Poplin Furniture Store in Hudson. While attending Sunday services at the Evangelical Free Church of Hudson, Dave became a dedicated student of faith and would later answer his call to ministry through ordination in 1978 by the Evangelical Church Alliance. He devoted his ministry to convalescent care and counseling, visiting the sick and homebound, and sharing the good news with countless nursing home residents throughout Worcester County. Rev. Warren would then accept his call to Pastor the First Baptist Church in Clinton, where he would faithfully minister to generations of families and friends in all times of life’s joy and sorrow. In retirement, he worshipped as a member of Trinity Church in Bolton and continued his devotion of prayer and caring for those he loved and those in need. Among his many simple pleasures in life, Dave enjoyed family camping trips, daily walks through the neighborhood, reading to his wife Sally, rocking in his rocking chair, and summer days with a bowl of ice cream. Dave was also a talented puppeteer, blessed with great ability to bring joy to others through his story telling and singing voice. Above all, he was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

Service arrangements are currently pending while entrusted to the care of Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton. Online condolences may be placed at www.philbincomeaufh.com
