David Stone

David Pierce Stone, age 85 of Pikeville, Kentucky passed away Thursday, August 7, 2025, at the Pikeville Medical Center.

He was a retired engineer for N&S Railroad and the previous owner of Premier Painting in Virginia Beach, Virginia, he was a member of the Corner Stone Christian Church, a member of the Moose Club and a veteran of the United States Army.

David was born in Williamson, West Virginia on August 2, 1940, a son of the late Harold Stone and Thelma Jude Stone.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Josie Whorton.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Charles Stone, one son, Michael Newsome and one daughter, Lisa Bowman all of Pikeville, Kentucky.

He is also survived by five grandchildren, Kendra Kidd (Dalton), Rachel Bowman, Chayse Bowman, Angelena Collins and Brayden Newsome.

Visitation will be in the J.W. Call Funeral Home Chapel, Sunday, August 10, 2025, 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 11, 2025 in the J.W. Call Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery at Shelbiana, Kentucky.
