David Boyle
David Boyle, 72, of Springfield, IL, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at his home surrounded by family. He was born on May 11, 1953, in Springfield, the son of Robert and Dorothy Sturm Boyle. He married the love of his life, Vickie Boyle on December 14, 2001, and she preceded him in death on February 15, 2013.
He is survived by his two sons, Kyle Boyle and Ryan (Rachel) Boyle; four grandsons, Ryan, Tony, Damian and Ryder Boyle; one brother, Kevin (Sally) Boyle; and a niece and nephew.
Along with his wife, he was preceded in death by his grandparents and parents.
David worked for the State of IL at Lincoln’s Tomb since he was 16 years old as a groundskeeper, retiring after many years of service. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, watching any game that he could, as well as a member of AFSCME Retirees Sub-Chapter 86.
Visitation: 4:00 – 7:00 pm, Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield. Cremation will be arranged following the visitation.
Graveside Service: 11:00 am, Friday, September 26, 2025, at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the President Abraham Lincoln Tomb.
