Darlyne Ruth Saville Fabrizius, 92, of Denver, CO passed away at Holly Heights on June 17, 2025. Darlyne was born in Blue Rapids, KS on March 5, 1933 and was the oldest of 6 children. She was very shy and was known to cross the street just to avoid walking by someone. One time she carried a saddle around just to “ride” on a fence, as they didn’t own a horse. Darlyne met her husband, Paul, on a blind date set up by a cousin. Paul states he was blind from the very beginning and she was his Kansas sunflower. They celebrated 69 years last August.
After they were married in Manhattan, Ks they moved to Denver, CO. They had 2 daughters, Paula and Carrie. Darlyne was a stay at home Mom and active in the PTA and various church groups. She did child care for a number of years and later in life went to work at Sears in the receiving department until her retirement. Darlyne was very generous and loved to give things away. If someone complimented her on a scarf she was wearing, she gave it to them. She loved to be a silent accomplice not wanting to be acknowledged for her kind deeds. Darlyne was the driving force behind Paul and his Optimist group golf tournaments. She came up with all the ideas for the prize donations. Darlyne and Paul loved to go to their timeshare in Vail. They met many friends and acquaintances during their week in September. She loved to play in the water with the hose. She was always squirting down the garage, driveway, sidewalks and gutters.
Darlyne is survived by her husband, Paul, daughters, Paula (Henry) Ulibarri, Carrie (Dennis) Lewis, along with their grandson, Paul (Adrienne) Ulibarri and their 2 children, Cayden and Aubree. She has a sister, Charlotte (Ed) Berry in KS and a brother, Alan (Martha) Schlegel in TX plus numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
