Daniel Ramsey

Daniel Henry Ramsey, 80, of Marysville, CA, peacefully passed away on September 4, 2022, after a short battle with cancer. Dan was born in Antioch, California, to Henry and Cecilia Ramsey. He grew up with his sister, Kathleen. At a young age he received his amateur radio license and this became his passion throughout his lifetime. After graduating from Antioch High School in 1959, he attended Diablo Valley College for two years, then went on to be a Union electrician for Local IBEW #302 for 42 years.

At the age of 17 he met his wife, Linda Phillips. They fell in love after a phone call Dan made to Linda while she was at summer camp, and they married on August 22, 1964. They had three daughters, Lynn, Kerry and Trudy. As a family they loved taking trips to their beach home in Washington state, antique shopping, going to gem and mineral shows, car shows and traveling. Dan was a kind and dependable man with a dry sense of humor. He worked tirelessly to ensure that his family had everything they needed.

Dan is survived by his wife Linda of 58 years, daughters Kerry Hunt (Jon) and Trudy Ramsey. Five grandchildren, Caitlyn O’Neill (Zach), Daniel Perry, Grace Perry, Katelynn Hunt and Carter Hunt. Sister, Kathleen Beaver, nephew Ebon Ameen, niece Ursula Brady, and great niece Emma Brady. He was preceded in passing by his parents, Henry and Cecilia Ramsey, and daughter and son-in-law Lynn and Rob Perry. A ham radio “Last Call” will be held at his home in Marysville, CA on Saturday, September 17 at 2:00 pm with his close friends and immediate family. A burial service will be held with close family at Forest Hills Cemetery in Port Ludlow, WA at a later date. The family has requested memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.

Dan, you are now at peace and with the Lord, but you will live on forever in our hearts. We love you so much.
