Dan Spencer Graham

October 17, 1944 – June 27, 2025

Dan Spencer Graham was born on October 17, 1944, in Leon, Iowa. Dan was the youngest of four brothers born to Lawrence and Elizabeth (Spencer) Graham of Pleasanton, Iowa. Dan passed away on the 27th day of June in Lamoni, Iowa at the age of 80 years. He grew up on the family farm located east of Nine Eagles State Park in Decatur County, Iowa. Dan was a talented musician and artist whose creative spirit enriched the lives of those around him.

Dan attended grade school in Pleasanton where his mother was a schoolteacher. He graduated from Central Community High School in Leon, Iowa in 1962. Dan loved fast cars, drag racing, motorcycles, old dogs, and kids. Dan married Janet Reed in 1964 (divorced in 1980). Dan and Janet were blessed with four children; Dan was a devoted father throughout his life.

Dan began working at the Kneip Packing Plant after graduating high school, but soon after he began a 30 year career at Industrial Hardfacing at Lamoni, Iowa where he held several roles and built a reputation as a reliable and skilled worker. In 1975, he took a leap of faith and co-founded Eon Technical Co. in Osceola, Iowa with his friend Ernie Mitchell. Dan was a man who valued hard work, ingenuity, and loyalty. Whether tinkering with machinery, especially hot rod car motors, running a business, or helping family, he did so with purpose and quiet determination. His wit, strength, and kindness will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.

Dan is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Elizabeth Graham; and by his brothers, Lawrence “Roe” Graham, Joe Graham, and Pat Graham.

He is survived by four children, Tami (Todd) Robison, Ward (Sheila) Graham, Tyler (Malinda) Graham, and Reed (Addie) Graham. Dan was a proud grandfather to Cody Spire, Chelsea (Tyler) Ingino, Seth (Maddie) Robison, Alexis (Jon) Peters, Steve (Laura) Scudder, Alexandria (Paxton) Dooley, Gunner Graham, Addiston Graham (fiancé Dalton Gilbert), Gibson Graham, Dagan Graham, and Dalton Graham.

Dan had great-grandchildren, Raechel Scudder (fiancé Travis Pollock), Elizabeth Scudder, Kinsley, Benjamin, Reagan Spire, Ellie and Alex Ingino, Wrynlee Robison, Hudson, Lincoln, Jamison, and Molly Peters and Delaney and Timber Gilbert. Dan also had many beloved nieces and nephews and cherished family friends.

Funeral services will be held at the Slade – O’Donnell Funeral Home in Leon, Iowa at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2025, with Pastor Ron Helton officiating. Burial will follow in the Hamilton Cemetery, Pleasanton, Iowa. Visitation is Tuesday at Slade – O’Donnell Funeral Home beginning at 3 with family receiving friends 5 – 7 p.m.
