Crystal Backus

Crystal Cobina Backus, 78, of Trimble County, Kentucky died Thursday, June 5, 2025  at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her father, Sherman Backus and her mother, Jewell Gammons Backus. 

Crystal attended Milton Elementary School and Trimble County High School. 

Crystal was an only child, but she has many friends who called her Sister. She also claimed two children, Jason Engdahl (Molly) and Jamie Engdahl Strickland (Tom) as her own. Through these children she had four grandchildren (Cooper and Preston Strickland and Aaron and Caitlin Engdahl). Crystal was preceded in death by her husband, Karma Walker.

Crystal graduated from Sullivan Business College in 1965 with a degree in Accounting. Her last job before retiring was at ALBA Enterprises (in Torrance, California) where she worked for over 20 years wearing many hats. She handled all payroll and accounting functions for both the business and the CEO’s personal accounts and his numerous other business enterprises.

Rest in peace my BFF Sister. My Kentucky family was your family as well. You lived with my sister, Barbara Logsdon, at the time of your death. You will be deeply missed by all of us but never forgotten. Our memories are embedded in all our hearts!
