Craig Robert Wotring
Age 79, of Owosso, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Memorial Healthcare, surrounded by loved ones.
A celebration of Craig’s life will take place on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 11 AM at Nelson-House Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Katie Wallen. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Friends and family are invited to gather at the funeral home for visitation on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 6 PM to 8 PM.
Born on May 30, 1946, in Lansing, Michigan, Craig was the cherished son of Craig and Ruth (Lyte) Wotring.
He graduated from Everett High School in Lansing, Michigan.
A proud veteran, Craig was a member of the American Legion Post 57 and served as the 8th District Chaplain where he dedicated himself to honoring and supporting fellow veterans. He was also a valued member of the Owosso Eagles, bringing joy to those around him. His passion for military history was evident in his eagerness to learn and share his knowledge, alongside his impressive collection of coins and military artifacts.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Owosso.
On June 25, 1976 Craig married Debra (Farrell) Wotring. They lovingly raised three children, until her passing on November 7, 1990.
Craig worked as a skilled mechanic at his family’s Midas Muffler shops, where his dedication and work ethic were well regarded. Craig also owned and operated C & D collectibles.
He is lovingly remembered by his children, Heather Ladiski, Robert (Becky) Wotring, and Eric Wotring (Erin Dittmer); six adoring grandchildren, Abigail Thomas (Dakota Pfeiffer), Lucas Wotring, Rachel Ladiski, Allison Wotring, William Wotring, and Elena Wotring; his brother, Don (Carol) Wotring; his sister, Mary Wotring; and his longtime partner, Dorothy Shanks.
In addition to his wife, Craig was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Craig and Ruth (Lyte) Wotring; sister, Ruth Ann O’Grady; and son-in-law, Kevin Ladiski.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial contributions to the Owosso American Legion, the Baby Pantry of First Baptist church of Owosso, or organization of donors choice.
