Clyde “Mr. Cool” Hemmingway, Jr., age 75, of Wilmington, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2025.

Public viewing 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at Davis Funeral Home, 901 S 5th Ave., Wilmington, NC 28401.

A celebration of Mr. Hemmingway’s life will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at Davis Funeral Home, 901 S 5th Ave., Wilmington, NC 28401.

Interment will follow at Oleander Memorial Gardens.

His love and memories will remain in the heart of his wife, Thelma Smith Hemmingway of the home; children Tawand Bennett (Tamula) of Wilmington, Ismara McLean of Wilmington, Robbin Gore of Greensboro and Andramada Hemmingway-Brown of Wilmington; siblings, Julia Hemmingway of Bronx, NY, Monica Olusajo of Kernersville and Ella Mae Hemmingway-Scarborough of Whiteville, seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
