Christopher Matthew Garens, 63 of Sullivan passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 in his home following an extended illness
He was born on September 27, 1961 in Lodi, Ohio the son of the late Denny and Margaret (nee Reigal) Garens.
Chris was employed for many years at General Packaging in Medina. He was forced to retire early in 2008 because of failing health.
He married the former Rhonda Jean Farkas on August 30, 1997.
Chris was a devoted member of Ignite Ministries in Ashland. Throughout his life, he loved woodworking, hunting, and fishing.
He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Rhonda Garens of Sullivan; two sons, Jeremiah (Courtney) Garens of Doylestown and Mathew (Brittney) Stuart of Bolivar; one step daughter, Jesse; and one expected grandson in August.
In addition to his parents, Chris is preceded in death by numerous siblings.
A Celebration of Chris’ Life will be held on Friday, May 16th from 6:30-9:00 P.M. at the Homerville Grace Brethren Church; 8992 Firestone Rd. Homerville, Ohio, 44235. Refreshments and finger foods will served after a short service
