Christine Lynn Arnett, 58, of Mannington, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 18, 2025, at her residence. She was born, March 25, 1967, a daughter of the late Earlen Bates and Edna Pearl Newbrough Drain. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Scott Dale Arnett, whom she married April 12, 1985.
Also surviving are three children, Joshua Arnett, Shinnston, Jessica Wright and her husband David, Mannington, Jamie Arnett and his wife Liz, Saltwell; five grandchildren: Chandiah, Jarrett, Waylon, Alba Jane, and Hazel; a special daughter that she helped raise, Madison; her siblings, Dottie Postlethwait, Helon “Sis” Postlethwait, Earlen “Bub” Drain and his wife Jackie, Becky Minnix and her husband Rodney, Steve Drain; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins, and her dog, Tramp.
Christine was also preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, John Postlethwait and Sam Hamilton.
Christine enjoyed camping, cookouts, family parties, and shopping. She loved to take drives, especially to the mountains. She was baptized as a child and was a Christian by faith. She loved her family and will be deeply missed.
The family will receive friends at the Hutson Funeral Home, 500 E. Main St., Mannington, from 11am until the time of the funeral service at 1pm, Tuesday with Pastor Doug Cyphers officiating. Interment will be in the Greene Cemetery at Dent’s Run. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made at https://www.tmcfunding.com/funds/christine-arnett/13155/.
