Danielson – Charmaine (Berthiaume) Ryan, 79, of Danielson, died Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Day Kimball Hospital after a period of declining health. She was the loving wife of the late John “Jack” Ryan (2017). Born in Webster, MA, she was the daughter of the late George and Dorothy (Laramie) Berthiaume.
Charmaine was a 1963 graduate of Bartlett high school in Webster. She worked at Park ‘n’ shop in Webster and then Quality Seafoods in Worcester, MA. Upon moving to Putnam, she initially started at Finest which became today’s Stop & Shop, where she retired in 2014 after a 25-year career working in the meat department.
She enjoyed animals of all types and sizes, starting with her favorite horse Cricket, numerous cats, rabbits and wildlife that visited her property. She raised and rode Palomino’s in horse shows throughout the country and won numerous ribbons and awards.
Charmaine is survived by three brothers, David Berthiaume of Lunenburg, MA, Dennis
Berthiaume of Worcester, MA, and Kenneth Berthiaume of Orange, MA as well as 9 nieces and nephews and 11 grandnieces and grandnephews.
