Charles “David” Wilkinson, known as “Mouse” in his younger years, aged 69, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025, at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport. He was born in Fairmont, June 15, 1956, a son of the late Charles David Wilkinson, Sr., and the late Nancy Lou Gillespie Belton and her husband Walter, who raised him.
He is survived by Suzy Johnson, who was the love of his life; a son, Brett Wilfong and his companion, Crystal Smallwood; his siblings, John Belton and his wife Susan, Patricia Ford and her husband John, Cindy Price and her husband Harry; nephews, Jeff Wolfe, Jason Wolfe, Justin Belton, and Tyler Price.
David was a former coal miner for 15 years at various area mines including: Rachel, Grafton, and Loveridge. He was a proud member of the UMWA District 31. He was currently employed by the Asplundh Family of companies for 32 years, most recently with Arbor Metrics Solutions. He enjoyed hunting, camping, fly fishing, being outdoors, and classic cars. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
The family will receive friends at the Hutson Funeral Home, 3171 Husky Highway, Farmington, from 2-8pm, Sunday, where funeral services will be held at 11am, Monday, August 25th, with Harold Price and Greg Layfield officiating. Interment will be in the Farmington I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.hutsonfuneralhomes.com. The Hutson Funeral Home is honored to serve the Wilkinson family.
