Charles Jones
Charles “Paul” Jones, 72, of Hannibal, MO, passed away at 3:30 PM, Monday, September 1, 2025, at his home.
Friends and Family are invited to Paul’s Life Celebration at a visitation that will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday, September 12, 2025, at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO.
Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of the James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO.
Paul was born April 22, 1953, in Quincy, IL to Henry Jones and Lucille Willey Jones.
He was married to Janet Woolley on July 26, 1985, in Hannibal, MO. She survives.
Other survivors include his three children, Denise Brinkley (Larry) of Kansas City, KS, Lyndi Porter (Jeff Jr.) of Hannibal, MO, and James “Jayme” Jones of Hannibal, MO; and two grandchildren, Gretchyn Porter and Koltyn Porter.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jennifer Lynne Jones; two brothers, Harold Willey and James Jones; and his best friend, Charlie Golian.
Paul worked at Accu-Therm for many years and as a mechanic and doing autobody repair work at Surl’s Autobody Shop in Hannibal.
Paul loved the outdoors and naturally developed a love for hunting, fishing, and riding four-wheelers. Whether casting a line into still waters, or navigating the rugged trails on his four-wheeler, Paul was happiest surrounded by nature. Watching NASCAR was one of Paul’s favorite pastimes. He also enjoyed racing in his younger years and later in life enjoyed watching local racing at Quincy Raceways, Donnelson, IA and Moberly, MO. Paul was well known for his racetrack videos that he took and edited for many years at Quincy Raceways. His passion for motorsports extended beyond the racetrack to the meticulous care and presentation of his beloved truck. The pride he took in showcasing his truck at car shows was evident. A collector at heart, Paul found joy in his impressive array of Hot Wheels. Each miniature car was a treasure, a tangible representation of his love for racing and design. Above all, Paul treasured the times spent with his family and friends.
