Charles E. Emanuel, Jr., 78, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 20, 2024, in Harrisburg.

Born on September 24, 1946, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Pearl (Strohecker) Emanuel, Sr.

After graduating high school, Charles enlisted in the United States Air Force and bravely served our country during the Vietnam War.

Once he was honorably discharged, he always made sure to volunteer his time at his local American Legions and V.F.W.’s. He was the past Commander at VFW Post #148 and American Legion Post #270 in Port Orange, Florida. He also belonged to the American Legion Post #730 and the AMVETS Post #0286.

Charles loved the warm weather of Florida and relocated to the Port Orange area for a time but realized he wanted to return home. He loved taking trips to the casino and getting breakfast with his family; especially Cream Chipped Beef. When Charles was with his loved ones, he was happy.

He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, the immense love he had for his family and his dedication to his country.

Charles is survived by his Son, Thomas Emanuel and wife Alicia; Daughter, Terri Sparks; Grandchildren, Kyle Sparks, Kerri Leggore, and Cody Bahm; as well as three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 37 years, Susan (Shickley) Emanuel; Daughter, Sue Bahm; and his Grandson, Tommy Emanuel.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Charles to the American Cancer Society.
