Cathy Scola
Cathy L. Scola of Yorktown Heights, NY, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2025, after a brief illness. She was 74.
Born in 1951, in New York City to Christi and Helen Moloney, Cathy moved to Yorktown in 1956. She attended St. Patrick’s School and graduated from Yorktown High School. She later earned her degree from Berkeley College and began her professional career at IBM, where she met her husband John. The two were married in 1981 and went on to build a beautiful life together.
In 1983, Cathy began what would become a lifelong calling at St. Patrick’s Religious Education Program. Over the next 41 years, she served the community with unwavering dedication, retiring in 2024. Her work touched the lives of countless families and left a lasting legacy of faith, compassion, and service.
Cathy will be remembered for her gentle heart, creative spirit, and deep love for her family. She had a passion for reading and arts and crafts, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren and cheering them on at their baseball games.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years, John; her son Chris and daughter-in-law Megan; her cherished grandchildren, Mason and Jack; and her beloved dog, Ellie.
In accordance with Cathy’s wishes, she will be honored through a private service.
