Carson City strays at the Nevada Humane Society include 2 dogs, 1 puppy, 2 cats and dozens of kittens
The Nevada Humane Society, Carson City branch currently has two dogs, one puppy, two cats and dozens of kittens in their stray hold.
“The pets listed have recently come into our care in Carson City,” a spokesperson for the Humane Society wrote. “They were either found by kindhearted individuals who couldn’t locate their owners or were picked up as strays by our Humane Enforcement Officers. All lost pets are held for five days to give their owners a chance to reclaim them. After this period, unclaimed pets become available for adoption, allowing them to find a new loving home.”
In addition to those listed in this log, there are also dozens of kittens and puppies that recently came into NHS, and are listed as “animal in custody,” but not as strays. Many appear to be only a few weeks old, and wouldn’t be up for adoption, but if you are interested in becoming a foster, please click here.

Dogs
This mixed breed boy is thought to be around five years old.
He was found July 29, 2025 in the 1500 block of N. Edmonds Drive.
He is under 24 pounds, with a reddish-blonde medium to long coat, yellow eyes, and a brown nose.
This small mixed breed boy is thought to be around eight years old.
He was located in the 700 block of Retail Court on July 29, 2025.
He weighs 9.6 pounds, appears to be part Yorkie, with long brown/blonde hair, dark brown eyes, and a black nose.
This female Beagle mix girl is approximately three months old and weighs 11.6 pounds.
She was located July 26, 2025 in the 1100 block of North Saliman Road.
She has a short, tri-color coat with a light brown mask, floppy ears, a black nose with a marking that makes it seem like a heart, and a white tip on her tail.
Cats
This domestic shorthair girl is through to be about seven years old.
She is a brown tabby with golden eyes, and listed as being “medium” in size.
She was found on Voltaire Street July 29, 2025.
Marina
This domestic medium hair Calico girl is thought to be around 10 months old.
She was found July 26, 2025 in the 1100 block of E. William Street.
She weighs 6.40 pounds, has a calico coat, upright ears, yellow eyes, and a pink nose with black freckles.
From the photo it appears she was found with her very young kittens.
