Carson City sheriff’s deputies make arrests for obstructing, warrants
- March 5, 2025

A 26-year-old Reno man was arrested early Tuesday for suspicion of misdemeanor trespass and obstructing an officer, according to Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.
Deputies were called at 12:30 a.m. to a casino in the 500 block of North Carson Street for a man who was told to leave the casino but instead returned. A deputy made contact with the man, who appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance.
The man put his hands in his pocket and walked toward the officer. The deputy asked him to take his hands out of his pocket, the report states. The man asked the deputy if they were recording. The deputy said they were.
The man told the deputy he did not believe they were recording. The deputy asked the man to walk to the front of the patrol vehicle. The man refused and said he was going inside the casino, according to the report.
The man began to walk toward the entrance. The deputy told the man they did not want him inside and that he would be arrested if he continued to walk toward the entrance. The man told the deputy “no, I won’t,” and continued walking, again placing his hands in his pockets, the report states.
Due to the man continuously placed his hand in his pockets and attempting to enter the casino after being told he would be arrested, the officer noted the unusual behavior and detained the man by grabbing his right hand to take control of him. The man resisted by pulling away and placed both of his hands on his chest. The deputy then grabbed both his hands and took the man to the corner of the entrance wall and cuffed him.
Deputies spoke with the casino security who advised the man had been asked to leave earlier and told not to return. The man then re-entered the casino. He was told, again, to leave but the man refused and then went to the valet area. The casino wished to file charges. The man was booked for trespass and obstructing. Bail: $1,137.
