Carson City pair arrested for possession, says sitting in front of a casino is ‘sus’
- October 28, 2025

A 35-year-old Carson City woman and a 32-year-old Carson City man were arrested in the 3200 block of Highway 50 E. for possession at around 2 a.m. Tuesday morning after being stopped for acting suspiciously.
According to the arrest report, deputies were patrolling in the area of Airport and Woodside when they observed a vehicle leaving a casino and heading towards the south side of the parking lot. They said initially, it appeared the vehicle was going to exit the parking lot, but instead, it pulled into a parking lot for a closed laundry business.
The reporting deputy stated that as they pulled into the parking lot near the vehicle, they noticed two occupants in the front seats who appeared to be attempting to conceal themselves from view by slouching down in their seats — behavior consistent with subjects attempting to hide from deputies, the report states.
The reporting deputy said due to the circumstances, they conducted a “reasonable suspicion” stop on the vehicle, and upon approach, “immediately recognized the two subjects.”
The deputy spoke to the driver, identified as the woman, and asked why they were driving but instead pulled into the parking lot of a closed business after seeing the deputy. She said she was waiting for her mom to come and pick them up, because she knows they can’t drive.
When the deputy asked why they’d moved from a parking spot at the casino to the closed laundry business, she said that sitting in front of the casino was “sus.”
An unnamed Deputy K9 was dispatched to the scene who performed a free air sniff of the vehicle resulting in a positive alert of drug odor.
Deputies searched the vehicle and located multiple hypodermic needles in the side door “most of which were preloaded with suspected methamphetamine.” The woman said they were for her mother, who had diabetes.
The reporting deputy stated that while that type of hypodermic needle can be used for insulin, “these needles contained a cloudy, bloody substance within the barrel, and showed signs of previous use, and lacked any other medical items like insulin vials or glucose testing equipment.”
Both the woman and the man denied ownership — the woman said nothing in the vehicle was hers, and that multiple people have driven the vehicle, and the man maintained nothing in the vehicle belonged to him either.
Dispatch advised the woman was also on parole and probation, who wished to place a hold on her for violating conditions.
Deputies took both into custody and transferred them to the jail without issue.
No bail for woman due to P&P hold.
Bail for man: $2,500
