Carson City Historical Society Presents Open House February 23

The Gothic-style Foreman-Roberts House, 1207 N. Carson St. (the big yellow house), will be open to the public for the first time this year, from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, February 23, 2025. Carson City history and stories about the Foreman and Roberts families who lived in the historic house at 1207 N. Carson St. will be presented during a free, docent-led tour.

Carson City Historical Society volunteers will tell the story of the Roberts family and their connection to Eilley Bowers, how the house came to Carson City in 1874, and facts about the famous spiritualist of the home.

Visitors will see a house museum and artifacts representing life in the 1880s through early 1900s. The adjacent Carriage House will also be open 1 to 3 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.  Parking is available on Corbett and Rice Streets.

There are three current exhibits displayed in both houses: “Northern Nevada Trains,” “The Life and Times of The Roberts Family,” and a temporary exhibit honoring Black History Month.

The open house is free and open to the public, donations are accepted. No reservations are required. For more information visit the Society’s website CCHistorical.org or send an email to carsoncityhistoricalsociety@gmail.com.
