Carson City firefighters extinguish small fire on West Winnie Lane

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff’s deputies were called Saturday afternoon to a fire in the 1500 block of West Winnie Lane.

At around 4:08 p.m. Carson City dispatch advised reports of a fire and possibly a tree on fire in the area. A CCSO first responder on scene reported it was possibly a barbecue smoker that got out of control. Carson City Fire Department is on scene where a small pile fire has been extinguished.

No word yet on the cause. We will update as information becomes available.
