Carson City firefighters called to Carriage Crest Drive fire, burning leaves got too close to home

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff’s deputies were called late Monday morning for a possible structure fire in the 2200 block of Carriage Crest Drive.
The fire was reported at 10:58 a.m. Multiple engines were called out. According to a first responder on scene, the fire was extinguished by the homeowner after they were burning leaves with some of the burning leaves moving into the crawlspace.
Carson City Fire Department personnel determined there wasn’t any spread underneath the home. Some fire engines are now returning to quarters.
