Carson City deputies make arrests for protection order violation, warrants
- June 25, 2025

A 38-year-old man was arrested early Wednesday for misdemeanor violation of a temporary protection order, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.
At around 12:55 a.m. a deputy on patrol did a license plate check through dispatch on a vehicle. The return information identified the registered owner and came back with a temporary protection order.
The TP0 was issued on May 12 and expires on June 26. The TPO was served May 13, 2025. The man also has a stay-away order through Carson City Justice Court, issued June 12 and expiring Oct. 10, 2025.
Earlier in the day a deputy who was working patrol was advised by another deputy that there was probable cause to arrest the man for a TPO violation and if he was located to arrest him for the violation.
After running the license plate and obtaining information, the deputy initiated a traffic stop. The man with the TPO violation was identified in the stop. He could not initially provide his insurance, the report states. The deputy advised him to look it up. The man got out of his vehicle and brought the deputy the information.
The deputy asked the man to stay right by the patrol car so they could talk. Subsequently the deputy arrested the man and read him his Miranda rights.
The man stated he understood and wished to speak. He informed the deputy that he had communicated with the person who had the order against him, via text messaging, after she initiated the conversation on June 24, the report states.
He also advised that he was aware of the TPO because he had seen her in court earlier in the day. He also advised that his father called him and when they spoke his father advised that the woman asked how he was doing, the report states.
He said the woman texted the him and he showed the deputy the text messages from June 24 on his phone and they showed texting going back and forth between the two, with the woman sending the first text to the man, the report states.
The deputy advised that because he had communicated back to the woman, he was under arrest for TPO violation. The information also matched the information provided by a deputy earlier in the shift. The man was taken to jail without incident. Bail: $3,137.
In other arrests:
— A 38-year-old Reno man was arrested Monday for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.
A deputy was dispatched at 10:50 p.m. to a lot in the 3000 block of South Carson Street to investigate a suspicious incident. The reporting party said a man was attempting to drive a vehicle under a chain, which was blocking the driveway.
The vehicle was described as a red Chevrolet. The reporting party then updated dispatch and told them the vehicle had made it under the chain and possibly was driving northbound, the report states.
The deputy canvassed the area and did not locate the suspect vehicle. The deputy then drove to Carson Dodge and located a man standing outside of a silver Dodge Challenger. The man was standing next to a red Chevrolet Cruze. The trunks of each vehicle were open and the man was moving items from the Challenger to the Cruze, the report states.
The deputy directed the man to step away from the vehicles. He was patted down for weapons, which none were located. The man told law enforcement he had an early morning service appointment for his Challenger so he had to have a way to get home. He said no one told him about the chain that would be blocking the driveway. He said he tried to drive around other vehicles on the lot before driving under the chain. He admitted to driving under the chain. The roof of the Cruze had multiple scratches from where the chain drug across, the report states.
A deputy K9 alerted positive following an open-air sniff around the vehicle. A jacket was located on the front side and inside one of the jacket pockets were two prescriptions.
Inside one of the jacket pockets were two socks. Inside one of the socks was a glass pipe with a bulbous end. The stem had crystal-like residue on it, which the report stated was a meth pipe with residue. The other sock had a small plastic bag. Inside were three “tooter” straws with residue on them. Also located was a small baggie with suspected methamphetamine inside the man’s front right pants pocket, the report states.
He was arrested and booked for suspicion of suspicion of possession of a controlled substance. At jail, he spontaneously stated he picked up the small baggie of suspect methamphetamine from the cup holder. He said he was not exactly sure what it was, but thought it was methamphetamine, the report states. He did not cause damage to the chain and the dealership did not wish to press charges. Bail: $2,500.
