Carol Ann Streadwick Williams passed away on October 10, 2025, at Sunnybrook Assisted Living. Born in Tryon, North Carolina, on December 25, 1932, to the late Ralph Engle Streadwick and Lillie Belle (Pat) Orr Streadwick. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; a son, William T. (W.T.), her daughter Rebecca Louise, a sister Barbara Sue Ellington-Hamilton, and a brother Ralph Engle (Buddy) Streadwick.
A caregiver to many, she felt like they were an extended family. During her time here on earth, she was a part-owner of Colony Casuals Clothing Store, a real estate broker, an employee of J. Crew, and the owner of Caro—Wick Weavers, where she sold her wares at craft shows and advertised in magazines.
In her earlier years, she was a Red Cross swim instructor. She was the most graceful swimmer you have ever seen. She always wore her cap, and her strokes were on point. Could have been a synchronized swimmer! Her hair was done every Thursday.
On Friday night, she bowled with various leagues, where she brought home a lot of trophies.
She loved the company of friends and hosted multiple Thursday night bridge sessions. In the summer, she would go to Myrtle Beach with her friends, and all the kids would be loaded up in the station wagon for a week at the beach house.
One of her more noted talents was how she could roller skate. She could do all types of maneuvers. Her parents had no car, so she skated everywhere. My daddy always commented that he had never seen rollers wore off the skates!!!
She is survived by her daughters Mary Karen Cox (Bobby), Margaret Saltz and a son, David Kyle Williams; grandchildren, Jean Marie Nix (Jerred), Cynthia Cox Middlteon (Shawn), Chandler and Chuck Cox, Summer Corral (Gary), and Kendall; great grandchildren, Victoria Saltz, Bethany Nix, Lucas and Isabella Escuceria, Caroleah and William Corral, and Shie Holcomb.
Momma is now at peace in the presence of her Savior. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Sunnybrook Assisted Living for their compassionate care for the past four years. They also thank Four Seasons Hospice for the kindness and support given in her final days.
A graveside service will be held at one o’clock on Friday, October 17, 2025, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Robert Garren officiating.
