Carol Marie Henne McGlone

Carol Marie Henne McGlone, age 94, of Hendersonville, North Carolina, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2025. She was born on November 18, 1930, in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Edward and Augusta Henne. She was raised and went to school in Brooklyn, where she graduated from high school.

On July 18th, 1952, Carol was married to the late Robert W. McGlone for 50 years. They moved out to Centereach, New York, where they raised four children, Barbara, Mark, Laura, and Patricia, until their retirement. Carol went back to work in the sixties as a secretary and assistant, first at Suffolk Community College, then at Suffolk County’s DA’s office, until retirement. After retirement, Carol and Robert traveled the country in a trailer for two years before settling in Hendersonville, North Carolina.

Carol was active in many churches, such as St. Cuthbert’s in Selden, New York, and St. James Episcopal Church in Hendersonville. She also volunteered at animal shelters and within her community. Carol received the President’s Volunteer Service Award in 2008. Carol is survived by her four children, eight grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 PM, Friday, September 26, 2025, at St. James Episcopal Church in Hendersonville. Upon her wishes, Carol’s cremated remains will be buried in the Memorial Garden at St. James Episcopal Church, where her late husband, Robert, was buried. Shuler Funeral Home has the honor of serving the family.
