Eric Philemon “EP” Greer III is now in the presence of Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior. He passed away on Sept. 19, 2025 at his home in Winslow, AZ. A memorial service for Eric is being held at First Baptist Church (411 N. Warren Ave.) on Thursday. Oct. 9 th at 11 am. It will be followed by inurnment at Desert View Cemetery and a lunch reception at the FBC Activity

Center. Eric was born Dec. 7th, 1949 in Winslow, AZ to Eric (Phil) Greer Jr. and Gerry Ida (Weeks) Greer.

He was their first of 6 children. Eric attended school in Winslow including Jefferson Elementary, St. Joseph’s, and was a proud graduate of Winslow High School, class of 1968. Following graduation, he became a third-generation railroader by hiring out with the Santa Fe Railroad in engine service, where he worked throughout the summer before attending the UofA on a law

scholarship. Following the fall semester, Eric transferred closer to home to NAU. He continued to work for the Santa Fe each summer until he stayed on full time in 1970 all while attending NAU as a junior. He then decided to make a career as a locomotive engineer and didn’t return to NAU for his senior year. He continued working for the Sante Fe and eventually the BNSF Railway until he retired in 2010 with 40 years of service.

Eric married Gina (Cain) Greer on May 15, 1976, and from this union were blessed with three children. Eric loved spending time with all his family and friends, trips to the lake, following the Cubs, Wildcats, Suns, and Cardinals, staying active by lifting weights, playing tennis and golf, and attending the various sporting events of his children and grandchildren. Eric was longtime

member of the First Baptist Church, served as a deacon, and on the outreach team. He truly had a heart for people and never met a stranger. He made anyone that he had the pleasure of visiting with feel like they were the most important person in the world. His smile and compassion conveyed an agape love to us all.

Eric was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert, infant sister Pauline, sisters-in-law

Julie and Dorcas Greer plus many uncles, aunts, and cousins.
