Carol Dewine

CAROL SUE DEWINE, 65, of Bellefontaine, passed away on May 18, 2025. She was born on August 24, 1959, in Dayton, Ohio to her parents Carl and Virginia (Evans) Jones.

Carol was a dedicated worker at Honda Manufacturing. She worked on her line for over 20 years and forged many friendships along the way. While there, she also met her fiancé Gene Holycross, with whom she shared the rest of her life with.

Carol will always be remembered for her love of traveling, especially to her favorite destination: Gatlinburg, Tennessee—a place that brought her joy and countless happy memories. Gatlinburg was her home away from home, and she loved spending time with friends and family there. Whether she was sampling new wines, collecting unique frog figurines to add to her collection, or just enjoying the ambience around her there, Carol never hesitated to jump in the car and head south for Gatlinburg.

When she wasn’t traveling, you could always find Carol at Nascar races or trying new restaurants all around her. Carol was an adventurer at heart, and her spontaneous spirit will be missed by all who knew her.

Carol is survived by her fiancé Gene Holycross, son Tyrell (Shellie) Harris, grandchildren Xander Harris, Hannah (Gabe) Nighswander, Sydney Johnson, and Sebastian Tackett, great grandchildren Ivery Nighswander, and Maeve and Miles Tackett, sister-in-law Christine Holycross, close friend Sharon Neher, and her beloved boxer Zeke. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Andrew Jones.

Visitation for Carol will be held Saturday May 31, 2025, from 10-11am at LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME with the service beginning at 11:00am with Pastor Harold Liess officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children:
