Carol Davis

Mrs. Carol Faye Ledford Davis, age 73 of Ellijay, passed away Friday July 11, 2025. Carol was born in Ellijay on July 20, 1951, to her late parents Robert Ledford and Dorothy Faye Dale. Carol was a proud member of Dover’s Chapel Church, and retired  from Shaw Industries as a supervisor. Carol was preceded in death by her great grandson Rylin Colt Payne.

Carol loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Many games of dominos were played around her kitchen table. She was adoringly known as Nannie to so many people; she loved to cook and always had enough food to feed everyone. If you left her home hungry it was your fault. She had such a love for flowers and was often found working in her flowers in her yard.

Survivors include husband of 57 years Rev. Robert Eugene Davis of Ellijay, daughter and son in law Robin and Brian Scott McKinney of Ellijay, son Kelly Davis of Ellijay, grandchildren Joe Payne, Summer Davis, Justin and Mkinzey Payne, Austin and Katie Davis, great grandchildren Miranda Payne, Maverick Payne, Brayley Payne, Rhodes Davis. Several nieces and nephews and special friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, July 13th, 2025 from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Smith, Rev. Brondy Davis, and Rev. Harold Mull officiating. Interment will follow in the Dovers Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers are Justin Payne, Alan Hall, Phillip Blue, Austin Davis, Tony Davis, Michael Davis, Billy Allen, Terry Richards, Tim Parks. Honorary Pallbearers are Richard Wehunt, Brian Scott and Jamie Payne. Family will receive friends on Saturday, July 12th, 2025, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Logan Funeral Home.
