It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Carmen Bondi who died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, April 27, 2025, in Lafayette age 96.

Born in Cucamonga, on June 5,1928, Carmen moved to San Jose in 1944. A San Jose High School graduate (1947), she dedicated her life to her family and community. She worked for twenty years with the San Jose Unified School Dist. and retired as a Cafeteria Manager.

Carmen, a devout Catholic was a beloved member of the Holy Cross Church and an active member of the Mother’s Guild and the Italian Catholic Federation. She loved cooking renowned Italian desserts and enjoyed sharing them with family, friends, colleagues and especially at Holy Cross Church events. Carmen dedicated herself to serving others. Her sweet and loving nature touched the lives of all who knew her. She had a competitive nature and love for family games which brought joy to all who knew her.

Carmen is survived by her sons James (Ikuko), Thomas (Larel), and her daughters Cathy, Mary (Harold) and daughter-in-law Sally; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents: Giovanni Lizio and Maria Russo; brother, Mariano; and son, Anthony M. Bondi Jr.

Visitation Thurs. May 15th 1 p.m. and Rosary 3 p.m. at Lima & Campagna Sunnyvale Mortuary, 1315 Hollenbeck Ave. Sunnyvale. Funeral Mass Fri. May 16th, 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, 580 Jackson Street, San Jose. Interment Santa Clara Mission Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
