Carlos Aragon Sr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, and stepfather, passed away peacefully at the age of 91. Born on March 4, 1934, in Los Angeles, California, to Jesus Aragon and Lucia Ortiz, he was raised in Rose Hills, California, as one of nine children. He graduated from Lincoln High School in June 1953, excelling academically and athletically. His talent as a singer, showcased from the age of fifteen, was evident both on the football field and with his guitar. His unwavering kindness and loving spirit commanded respect, a kindness he generously returned. He served in the Air Force from November 1953 to August 1957, receiving an honorable discharge. After his service, he worked as a diesel mechanic for thirty years. Carlos married Delia Aragon, and together they raised four children in El Sereno, California: Maria, Lucette, Carlos Jr., and Jorge. After Delia’s unexpected passing in June 1992, Carlos moved to Highland Park, California, and later remarried Barbara Aragon. His generosity and willingness to help others were legendary. He cherished his family above all, frequently gathering them for lively gatherings filled with music and laughter. Carlos enjoyed gardening, traveling, home renovation, and spending time with his pets and family. His beloved pets “Chop Suey,” “Ms. Molly, and cat “Bootsie.” Later in life, Carlos dedicated his life to the Lord and enjoyed attending church with his daughter, Maria, and son-in-law, Timothy. Carlos is survived by his wife, Barbara; children Maria, Lucette, Carlos Jr., Jorge and daughter-in-law, Angel; grandchildren Azalea and Jaden; sons-in-law Timothy and Tobias; and stepchildren Susan, Sherry, and Mark. His legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
