Carl Krause

June 5, 2025 at the age of 94. Predeceased by parents, Carl and Benedith (Johns) Krause; brothers, Lee Krause and Don Krause; nephew, Lee Krause. Survived by his loving wife, Carol (Ramburg) Krause; children, Leah Bourne, Kurt Krause, Martha (Tim) Henry; granddaughters, Ellen and Annelise Henry; several nieces and nephews.

Carl was born on November 19, 1930 in Blakely, PA. and graduated from Waymart High School in 1948. Soon after graduating from high school, he joined the US Navy and served for four years during the Korean War. While on leave visiting his family in Hancock, NY he went ice skating at Bolles’ Pond with his brother, Don, and met Carol, the girl he would be married to for 69 years. After his Navy service he went to Cornell University and Syracuse University Law School. He joined the law firm of Harris, Beach and Wilcox, became a partner and after a long and distinguished career, retired in 1995. He was a proud and active member of Rochester Rotary for many decades. Over the years he enjoyed many fishing trips with his brother Don and nephew Lee, playing tennis and paddle ball, traveling with friends and family and spending time with his family at the cottage on Keuka Lake. His three favorite things were his granddaughters, ice cream and the New York Giants. A much loved husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, his generosity, sense of humor and wisdom will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Rochester Rotary Sunshine Camp.

Friends may call to the funeral chapel (2305 Monroe Avenue) at 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on June 21, 2025. A service will take place at the funeral chapel following the calling hours at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family at Riverview Cemetery in Hancock, NY.
