Candice R. St. Louis, age 75, of Johnstown, a cherished matriarch, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, June 8, 2025.
Born on September 25, 1949, in Amsterdam, NY, she was the daughter of the late William Felix St. Louis Jr. and Gertrude Hagarbome.
Candice’s life was a tapestry of loving moments, generous deeds, and the kind of joy that reflects a life well-lived. Her generosity was boundless, and Candice was known to give of herself wholeheartedly. Among the joys of her life was the unwavering affection for her cat, a constant companion and source of comfort.
She is survived by her life partner, Donald “Debar” DiBartolomeo; stepmother, Patricia (Gordon) St. Louis; daughters, Lorie Ayala, Kristine DiBartolomeo, and Theresa Whitman (Nicholas); her sons, Loran Wood Jr., David Wood (Brandy), and Wayne Wood (Crystal); brothers, Jerry Hall (Carol), William St. Louis III (Janice), Jerry St. Louis, Christopher Hall, Eli Hall (Barbara); sisters, Melody Keller (Raymond), Cheryl Farina (Salvatore), Sharon Hall, Patricia Nestler (Leroy), and Regina Strickland, along with Sandra Lorraine (Jim); grandchildren, Justin, Jordan, Christopher, Austin, Paige, Devin, Nathan, Kelsi, Darien, Charles, Loran, Dracen, Emily, Ava, and Brynn; and she was a beloved great-grandmother to Nova May, Olivia, Wyatt, and Madison; brother in law, Earl Spencer.
In addition to her parents, Candice is predeceased by her siblings Donald Hall, Shane St. Louis, Carol Sue Spencer, and Louise VanMeter.
In keeping with her wishes there will be no calling hours or funeral services.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown, NY.
