Brian Harms

Brian Keith Harms, age 53 of Lake Holiday, Somonauk, IL passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born on March 15, 1972 in Sandwich, IL the son of Keith and Janet (Young) Harms.

Brian attended Marmion Military Academy and furthered his education at Blackburn College, where he met the love of his life. Brian was united in marriage to Carrie Jones on June 27, 1998 and they spent the next 27 years happily together. Brian was employed as a Senior Underwriter with MetLife Insurance Company. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Somonauk, IL and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Brian was a loving son, brother, husband, father, and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Brian is survived by his parents, Keith and Janet Harms of Plano, IL; his wife, Carrie Harms of Somonauk, IL; his children, Amanda Michelle, Rebecca Marie, and Joseph Thourmon Harms, all of Somonauk, IL; as well as his sister, Peggy (Denny) Durland of Yorkville, IL; brother-in-law Justin (Amy) Jones of Manteno, IL; and seven nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by both sets of his grandparents, Russell and Margaret Young and William and Lorriane Harms; mother- and father-in-law, Virgil and Sharon Jones; and brother, William Russell Harms.

A Memorial Mass will take place at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 320 S Depot St, Somonauk, IL 60552. Interment will follow in the Little Rock Township Cemetery in Plano, IL.

Friends may visit from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1275 South Countyline Road, Sandwich, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Alzheimer’s Association or American Diabetes Association, would be appreciated.
