Bredan Edward Reed, Age 47, passed away peacefully at University Hospital,

Newark, NJ, after a brief illness on

Friends and relatives are invited to join the immediate family at Dooley’s Funeral Home,

218 North Avenue West, Cranford, NJ on Thursday, 5/22, between the hours of 7-9 pm for a memorial service to honor him and celebrate his life.

Brendan was raised in Cranford, NJ and was a resident of Elizabeth, NJ.

He was a graduate of the Master’s Program in School Administration at St. Peter’s College in Jersey City, NJ and worked in the teaching field.

Forever an animal lover and animal advocate, he often had several pets, and was known to set up portable shelters for stray cats in the winter months.

No Cowboys football game ever happened without Brendan’s wholehearted support! In a good-natured competition with his father, a diehard Giants fan, there was often a fun rivalry between father and son. He also loved basketball and followed the Knicks closely.

Dear to Brendan’s heart was St. Jude’s Hospital as he was an avid supporter of their exemplary service to children and their families in the fight against childhood cancer.

He is survived by his parents, Lola Reed of Delray Beach, Florida; his father, Norman Reed Jr. of Cranford, NJ; his stepfather, Alfred Tagliabue of Delray Beach; his sister, Alaina Reed and her daughter Kitara Barrett of Deerfield Beach, Florida; and his girlfriend, Endless Williams of Elizabeth, NJ.
