Bobby Farmer
Mr. Bobby Gene Farmer, age 79, of Warrensville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, August 15, 2025, at Ashe Memorial Hospital.
Born on April 20, 1946, in Ashe County, Bobby was the cherished son of the late Doyle Famer and Doris Miller Lambert. He dedicated his life to his family and his work, establishing Bobby G. Farmer Trucking in 1974. A man of simple pleasures, Bobby found joy in the familiar comforts of home, often spending his evenings watching classic television shows such as Gun Smoke, Matlock, Andy Griffith, and Walker Texas Ranger. These moments of relaxation were a reflection of his warm and easygoing nature. He attended Pleasant Chapel Baptist Church.
Bobby was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Rita Miller Farmer, whose memory he cherished deeply. Together, they created a loving home filled with laughter and support.
He is survived by his son, Travis Farmer and wife Amanda of Lansing, as well as three devoted sisters: Linda Sexton and husband Ed of Jefferson, Kathy Freeze of West Jefferson, and Carol McNeill and husband Billy of West Jefferson. Bobby also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, who will carry forward his legacy of kindness and love.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at 2 PM at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. David Lyalls officiating. Burial will follow at Ashelawn Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
They will be meeting at the home of Kathy Freeze, located at 476 Harless Road, West Jefferson, NC 28694.
