Billy McGehee

Billy Ray McGehee 82, of Star City passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at Dalton’s Place in Star City. Billy was born in Star City on December 24, 1942 to the late Woodrow Wilson and Gertrude Estelle Carter McGehee. Mr. McGehee went to College at Arkansas Tech where he was in the Army ROTC, he loved farming and ranching. Billy was the retired Administer at Oil Belt Vocational School in El Dorado where he has a building named after him, he was also a member of Holly Springs Missionary Baptist Church.

Also preceding him in death was his wife of 50 years Rozella McGehee, a daughter, Louann McGehee, two brothers; Jerry W. McGehee, Tommy McGehee, and one nephew, Jerry Carter McGehee.

Survivors include one son; Tim McGehee (Jennifer) of El Dorado, two sisters; Brenda Estelle Conaway (Kenneth) of Gilmer, TX, Lydia Ann Prevatte (Sammy) of Star City, four grandchildren; Lauren McGehee Dugal, Austin McGehee, J C McGehee (Cassidy), and Madyson Campos (Juan), and many Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral services are 11:00am Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Griffin Funeral Service in Star City with Bro. David Leopard officiating. Burial to Follow in Holly Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00am Thursday, July 17, 2025 at the funeral home before the service.
