Billie “Billy” James Blackstock, 92, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2025, in Glen Rose, Texas.
A graveside committal service will be held at 1 P.M., on Monday, November 24, 2025, Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa, Texas.
Billy was born on May 14, 1933, in Seagraves, Texas to the late James Clarence and Louise Blackstock. Billy was a graduate of Odessa High School. He proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps. Billy worked for 30 years for the United States Postal Service ending his career as a Post Master. He was a life member of the Odessa Chuck Wagon Gang. He loved football – particularly the UT Longhorns and the Dallas Cowboys. In later years, he enjoyed RVing and Cruising. Billy was a member of the First Christian Church of Granbury and a past member of Bethany Church in Odessa. Most of all, Billy cherished time spent with his family.
Billy is survived by his wife, Carolyn; her children, Terry Worcester, Kathy and husband Stan Cooper, Les and wife Debbie Roper and Jay and wife Stephanie Roper; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents, Billy was proceeded in death by his first wife, Hellen; his son, Barry James Blackstock; his sister, Dealvia “Dee” Tillman and his brother, Jimmy Lee Blackstock.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Billy’s memory may be sent to Bloys Church Camp of Fort Davis-Burnett Camp, 125 Bluebriar Lane, Buchanan Dam, Texas, 78609.
