Barry W Bowers, age 69, passed away peacefully at the Solace Center in Asheville on Friday, August 15, 2025.
Barry was a man whose life was deeply rooted in his faith. His love for God was the foundation upon which he built everything. To Barry, putting God first wasn’t just a belief; it was a way of life. Right alongside his unwavering faith was his profound love for his family. They were his heart, his greatest joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Barry also had a deep passion for cooking, which brought him both peace and pleasure. It was more than just a hobby; it was an art form he poured himself into. He took great pride in his craft, delighting in creating meals that brought people together. The kitchen was one of his happy places, where creativity met comfort.
Beyond his culinary talents, Barry was also a gifted musician. He especially loved playing the guitar, often losing himself in the rhythm and melody. Music was his second language, an outlet for joy, reflection, and expression. His taste in music was broad, but he had a special fondness for classic rock from the 1970s. The sounds of that era really spoke to his spirit. Barry lived with purpose, heart, and devotion, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and creativity that touched everyone who knew him.
Those left to cherish Barry’s memory are his loving wife, Kathryn Bowers; his five children, Melissa Barnett, of Hickory; Kristin Bowers (Trey Fair), of Marion; Keelan Bowers, of Missouri; Matthew Bowers, of Marion; Joshua Bowers (Deanna Hughes), of Marion; and one grandson, Tyberius Fair.
In keeping with Barry’s wishes, the family will be holding a private memorial service at a later date.
