Barbara Ann Cron Bush, age 69, of Elizabeth City, NC, passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025, after a brief bout of cancer. She was born in Newburgh, NY, on February 21, 1956, to the late William Frank Cron and Barbara Ellamae Davis Cron. Barbara was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and loving partner to Eric Hilbert. She will also be greatly missed by her cats, Rajah and Isabella. Barbara enjoyed sewing, reading, crocheting, building puzzles, and gardening.
Her beautiful life will be forever cherished by her partner, Eric; her sisters, Wendy and Katherine; and her brothers, William, Edward, and David. Barbara will also be missed by her daughter, Tamara Dawn (Richard); her sons, Gary (Holly) and Christoper (Trista); and her loving grandchildren, Jakob, Jackson, Zayden, Simon, Emerie, Cade, Hollyn, Bennett, Lucille, and Briggs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Cassandra Ann Robinson.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Twiford Memorial Chapel, with Chaplain Kevin Reiver officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. and also immediately following the service. Burial will take place at New Hollywood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to DAV – Disabled American Veterans, (help.dav.org), P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301, or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, (stjude.org/donate), 501, St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
