Sharon Wright

Sharon Michelle Lipscomb Wright, age 66, of Elizabeth City, NC, passed away at her home on Saturday, July 26, 2025. Born in Cumberland, MD on April 6, 1959, to Emil Dale Lipscomb and the late Laura Fries Lipscomb, she was the wife of Willis “Bud” Squires Wright, III.

Sharon found fulfillment in her career as an accountant, where her meticulous attention to detail and commitment to excellence were admired by colleagues and clients alike. Beyond her professional life, she was known for her warmth and creativity, which she expressed through her love of baking and needlepoint. A devoted member of City Road United Methodist Church, Sharon played an active role in her church community.

In addition to her father and husband, she is survived by her son, Sean Wright (Blake), of Elizabeth City, NC; sister, Linda Tax, of VA; and grandchild, Savannah Wright.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Sharon’s gentle spirit and generous heart touched the lives of many, and she will be remembered fondly by those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her presence will be greatly missed, but her memory will forever remain a blessing to those left behind.
