Audrey Maxine Horne of Littlefork, MN died on May 28, 2025, at Essentia Health, St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth. She was born on October 18, 1930, In Mizpah, Minnesota, the daughter of Otto and Esther (Vandre) Dreher. On June 9, 1951, Audrey was united in marriage to Wesley L. Horne, in Mizpah.

Audrey worked as a nurse’s aide until her daughter, Bonnie was born, at which time she became a full-time homemaker. After Bonnie graduated high school Audrey began working at Green Forest in Littlefork, then as a housekeeper at the Littlefork Medical Center until her retirement.

Audrey’s family was her pride and joy. She loved spending time with them above all else, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She never missed a Christmas concert, play, or sporting event. Audrey also spent a lot of time babysitting for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, which she thoroughly enjoyed. She also enjoyed gardening, quilting with the ladies at Littlefork Lutheran Church, completing puzzles, game nights, and traveling with friends and family in her younger years. Audrey liked crafting, especially making her trademark pinecone wreaths and Christmas decorations, and painting pictures (many of which ended up in her grandchildren’s rooms). She also took great pride in her garden and flower beds around her home and yard.

Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Horne; parents, Otto and Esther Dreher; and brother and sister-in-law, Gerald (Aggie) Dreher.

Audrey is survived by her daughter, Bonnie (Curtis) Horne; granddaughters, Becky (Josh) Kinneberg, and Kristy (Lakein) Hanson; and three great-grandchildren: Liam Kinneberg, Evelyn Kinneberg, and Brooks Hanson.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Littlefork Lutheran Church, in Littlefork, MN. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Green-Larsen Mortuary in International Falls, MN from 5-7:00 pm and continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Oakley Cemetery in Littlefork.
