Annette Bailey

Annette Bailey, affectionately known by many names—Sweet Pea, Lil Mom, Momma, and more—passed away peacefully on May 14, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on April 26, 1942, in PineBluff, Arkansas, she entered the world alongside her beloved twin sister, Jannette Wilkins, asa cherished daughter of IWillie McGhee.

Annette lived a life steeped in faith, love, and an extraordinary sense of purpose. She was a devoted housewife, a nurturing mother of six, a grandmother and great-grandmother to many, and a powerful spiritual leader. She was co-pastor of Anointed Word Ministries in Camden, NJ with her husband Alvin R. Bailey. She was also a minister, and prophetess, she touched countless lives with her words of wisdom, encouragement, and grace. Her gifts extended to writing as well—sharing prophetic poems of inspiration as the author of Jesus Does A Body Good – Published June 27, 2012

She was known not only for her ministry but for her unforgettable style. Whether she was out and about or at home raising her children, Annette was always dressed with elegance, grace, and her signature high heels. Her beauty, both inward and outward, was a reflection of herdignity and deep self-respect. She carried herself as royalty and made those around her feelspecial and loved. Whenever you saw Annette, Alvin was right next to her holding her handwherever they went.

Anyone who knew Annette knew that if you came to her with a worry or burden, she always had a word of encouragement. She was the steady hand, the open heart, the wise voice that lifted spirits and gave strength. Her children remember her as their greatest cheerleader—

always believing in them, always supporting them, and always reminding them to “stay sweet,” her favorite saying. Anyone who knew Annette personally also knew that she loved to watch her favorite western TV shows like The Rifleman, Gunsmoke, and Bonanza. She loved to dance—from the time she was a teenager and throughout her life. Her joy, rhythm, and vibrant spirit were unmistakable, and dancing was just one of the many ways she expressed the light she carried inside.

Most importantly she was a virtuous woman that was totally submitted to Jesus Christ. Annette was preceded in death by her loving husband, Alvin Rafael Bailey; her mother, IWillie McGhee; her twin sister, Jannette Wilkins; and her sister, Brenda Wilson. She leaves to cherish her memory her six children: sons Anthony Wayne Henderson and Raphael Bailey; daughters Sharnell L. Henderson, LaJoyce Deshan Henderson, Tiffany Denise Brown, and Tammy Lynette Bailey. She is also survived by her sister, Jonie Renee McGhee; brothers, Ronnie Ray Williams and Theodis McGhee Jr.; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchild and many other family members and friends, who will carry her legacy of love, faith, and encouragement forward.
