Anne L. Hohan, 95

Anne L. Hohan, 95 of Ashland, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday evening, April 29, 2025 at Brethren Care Village. She was greeted by her blessed Lord and Savior and her loving husband of 65 years, Richard.

She was born on December 5, 1929 in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Wasil “William” and Zuzanne (nee Wasil) Lechman.

Anne graduated from high school in 1948 and furthered her education and earned a nursing degree from Presbyterian Hospitals School of Nursing in 1951.

She married Richard T. Hohan on December 29, 1951. Anne left her career in nursing once she and Richard started their family. She became a very active volunteer as the Principal of Confraternity of Christian Doctrine at the catholic church. She also proudly served as a C.P.R. instructor and remained an active volunteer at the American Cancer Society and Hospice during her retirement years in Venice, Florida. When not volunteering, she and her husband enjoyed traveling the world.

Ann was a previous member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Cuyahoga Falls, and a current member at St. Edward Catholic Church in Ashland. In keeping with heritage, Anne was a phenomenal cook and taught that skill to both her children and grandchildren. She showed them how to make perogies, haluski’s, and pizzelles, to name a few.

She is survived by two daughters, Maureen (Jack) Wilson of Euclid and Jean (Michael) Neel of Ashland; one son, Richard (Teri) Hohan of North Canton; seven grandchildren, Katie (Tom) Bildstein of Willowick, Erin (Keith) Grywalski of Galena, Michael Neel of Columbus, Thomas Neel of Columbus, Richard Neel of Columbus, Jenna (Dan) Sutherland of Medina, and Sean Hohan of Chicago, Illinois; and seven great grandchildren, Taylor, Peyton, and Tommy Bildstein, and Reid and Cace Grywalski and Palmer and Beau Sutherland.

In addition to her parents, Anne is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Richard Hohan who passed from this life on April 16, 2017; her siblings, Michael, Johnny, Steve, Andy Lechman and Margie Ginalski and Sue Klenovich; and Anne and Dick’s beloved canine and companion, Surprise.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Edward Catholic Church with Father Rod Kreidler presiding. Interment will follow in the Ashland County Memorial Park. Friends and family may gather one hour prior to the service at church from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Edward Catholic Church, or to Brethren Care Village or to Gentiva Hospice.

The family wishes to thank the staff at both Brookwood and Brethren Care Nursing Center for their thoughtful and loving care for Anne.
