Amos Adkins

Amos Mitchell Adkins, age 48 of Harold, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at the Hazard ARH Hospital.

He retired from the Kentucky State Police in 2018 and went on to serve as a detective with the Pike County Sheriff’s Office, he was still a member of the FBI task force and was well respected among all law enforcement.

Mitch was born in Pikeville, Kentucky on May 28, 1977 the son of the late D.M. and Carol Jean Coleman Adkins.

He is survived by his wife, Kendra Brooke Francis Adkins, son, Brady Mitchell Adkins (Lauryn), of Pikeville, Kentucky, bonus children, Kaleb Maxwell and Kolby Jace Campbell both of Harold, Kentucky, a daughter, Josie Makenna Adkins of Pikeville, Kentucky and bonus child, Kayden Grace Campbell of Harold, Kentucky

He is also survived by a sister, Kristy Lynn Stiltner (Thomas Kilgore) of Van Lear, Kentucky and one granddaughter, Mia Claire Adkins.

Visitation will be in the J.W. Call Funeral Home Chapel, Friday, September 19, 2025, 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. and Saturday, September 20, 2025, 10:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Sunday, September 21, 2025, in the J.W. Call Funeral Home Chapel with Keenan Darby officiating. Burial will follow in the Gethsemane Gardens in Prestonsburg, Kentucky.
