Allen Scheidl

With great sorrow we share the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend Allen Scheidl of Airdrie, AB. He passed away peacefully the morning of Saturday, July 5, 2025, surrounded by family after a short battle with lung cancer.

Allen was born in Mayerthorpe, AB, to Al and Barbara Scheidl and moved around between BC and Alberta growing up. He started his carpentry career building houses with his father and worked on various projects through his 40 years of construction before retiring in 2015.

Allen married his beloved wife Debbie Scheidl in 1982. They lived together in Red Deer, AB, followed by Westbank, BC, where they welcomed their son Brad. Moving on to Summerland, BC, and eventually Airdrie, AB, where they have lived for the last 27 years.

After Allen retired, he filled his time with extended camping and fishing trips to BC, hunting trips to BC and Alberta, and spending time with family and friends. Ultimately his favourite thing to do was spending time with his granddaughters.

Allen is survived by his beloved wife Debbie Scheidl, his son Brad Scheidl, daughter-in-law Jessica Scheidl, and granddaughters, Ellie and Hannah. As well as sisters, Barbara (Les) Weiss of Kelowna, BC, and Kathy (John) Wishlow of Cultus Lake, BC, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Celebration of Allen’s Life will be held at Brad’s Acreage (262010 Hwy 587, Wimborne, AB) on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 3:00 p.m.
